Hope you had a fabulous weekend! Our weekend was full of projects, sweat, and hard work. I feel like we were successful in accomplishing the majority of the projects we wanted to- we would have surely finished if Em had taken a nap- she literally did not take a nap all weekend. She was exhausted, but just wouldn’t nap.
Rough for everyone.
The projects we did complete were yard work and completing the master bathroom cabinets. The Hubby mowed the lawn, fixed the irrigation system, aerated the lawn, and fertilized it. I weeded in the back earlier this week and finished weeding in the front this weekend. The grass is already a beautiful green hue-can’t wait to sink my bare feet into it next weekend(we have to stay off of it for a week because of the bug killer and fertilizer).
I was able to apply one more coat of primer to all of the cabinets, drawers and coverings- and then two coats of paint to everything! I still have one more coat of paint for the front of the two cabinet drawers and then we just have to wait the three days to re-hang and install. I LOVE how it looks so much cleaner already- much brighter!
I didn’t get to sealing the grout in the kitchen or entryway yet-and I still have to finish the grout in the powder bathroom downstairs-hoping to have some energy one of these nights to work on that. It took about six hours when I put on the grout-renew and I am hoping it will not take as long to seal them. My knees just about have had it.
I definitely feel the burn today after all of the projects we completed! Lame maybe, but I am loving that my hamstrings got a good workout in.
On Friday we got all of our grocery shopping done AND did a Costco run. Felt nice to knockout the large shopping trips before the weekend…
Every once in awhile I will do a Secret Shopping Assignment-one that is local and is high paying- so we went out West to the new Outlet Mall. The Toddler actually asked to go into shops- we don’t actually go clothes shopping at the mall so it was pretty hysterical how happy he was to go into shops and say “Hi” to everyone. We celebrated a successful shopping trip with a milkshake! I found some adorable PJs and baby bloomers for both of them at Old Navy for 75% off. Fantastic all-around!
The Toddler- BEARDOWN ARIZONA. Our basketball team is on to the Sweet 16!
The Husband- such a trooper- loves wearing Em when we are out and about.
Wearing “real” clothes-Proof. The temperature was in the mid 80s even at 5PM. We skipped spring and have officially hit summer.
CROUCHING TIGER, TACKLING TODDLER
The following is a thirty second glimpse into our life as of late. Em takes it upon herself to use The Toddler as a tree, tackle dummy, and chew toy. He is an awfully good sport about it and has yet to strike out in anger-it is actually more fear…
Sharing Bubbles- The Toddler covets the bubbles like that fish in Finding Nemo-I kid not.
Em LITERALLY stood up and body slammed The Toddler. Both of them had welts on their heads- that is The Hubby’s arm springing into action to save them from the full brunt of the attack.
He gave her a kiss after her attack-talk about sweetness. No tears were shed.
They really do love each other. It is priceless how they interact and “talk” to one another each day. They now sing to each other in the car. There are times in the Prius I will be talking on the phone through the speak system and they will start up- sounds like high-pitched cats dying. They giggle and laugh as they sing to their little hearts desire. I CANNOT wait to have a bigger car. They are quite loud and I usually end up with a giant headache. I guess it is much better than screams of sadness or anger.
Em has been able to “crawl” for some time now… the worm… now if The Toddler sets down one of his toys and walks away she will speed crawl over to the toy and claim it as hers. Adorable and hilarious. The chronicles of their relationship and the stunts they pull together would fill a post each and every day. Unfortunately-or fortunately for you- I have other responsibilities that keep me from being able to work every night.
Happy Monday!
