1. Lovely weekend with great friend’s! No matter the time or distance- we will always be there for eachother. It is like no time has gone by… LOVE THEM.
2. Thank you Alaina and Becca for driving up and staying with us Friday night! They babysat D so Hubs and I could go to Avengers. Forecast= movie of the year. Easy. WIN. Love that it doesn’t have any gore for being an action flick-which means D gets to watch it earlier than some of the other “super” hero movies that are a tad creepy and out there- aka Green Latern.
3. The heat has gotten to me. In a bad way. On Tuesday morning I set up the baby pool under our shade in the backyard at 10AM. It was already over 100 degrees out. But I thought we would be okay in the shade, in the water. The water was piping hot- who wants to sit in a hot tub of water in over 100 degrees???- apparently not even D. AND he loves water. So we attempted. He splashed around with me in the pool for two seconds before pulling up on the edge of the pool and hawking himself over the egde to the grass. The grass needed a trim he thought. SO we went inside to put a cloth diaper on him so he could sit in the grass(in the shade) and “help” Dad with the yard work. As soon as we go back and I plop him down in the grass. He crawls over, yanks himself up on the pool and splashes down. Yes, the grass is greener on the other side. I said that outloud as D laughed it up back in the pool with his cloth diaper on. You win this time kid. At this point I am sweating… GLOWING… and am breaking out in hives- again. And D how has a rash all over him too. SO we go inside. Get showered off and a nice coating of hydrocortisone. We are trying to figure out if 1. We are allergic to grass. OR much more probable 2. We are allergic to tremendous heat. Counting down the days to WA……..
3. D and I now go on “shopping” excursions to Target, Hobby Lobby, Buy Buy Baby… anywhere with amazing air conditioning. We have been waiting for G to get home this week before we take off to get out of the house because this Mom has CABIN FEVER- and it is nice to have another pair of hands. So I am taking it upon myself to slowly plan for D’s 1st birthday… buying small things when they are on-sale ahead of time before they are needed….
4. Crafts make the day better. I am in no way an artist-nor would ever claim to have any artistic ability… if you go to WA and see some “art” I made of clay you would think to yourself, “What a great job! Was that done in elementary school? Third grade?”——— NOPE. High school. Junior year of high school to be frank. My Mom displays them lovingly…. <3. I have four-five ongoing projects that I break out at night- hopefully you will see some in the coming weeks : ) . 5. The University of Arizona Baseball team won the national championship!!! When I was pregnant with D last year and we were living in Tucson, G and I went to about ten games and sat with their parents… so wonderful to see the kids make it this year and recognize the fams. WAY TO GO CATS!!! 6. My cooking is definitely improving. Not last Friday(sorry girls-at least G made tasty cookies). But I now meal plan weekly. Write it on the chalkboard and we buy groceries every Sunday for the week. We haven’t ate out other than seeing our friend’s two weeks ago in about three months. Healthy eating for the WIN! 7. D is crawling. EVERYWHERE. He is a fast little devil, especially when he is not supposed to go get something…. He knows. He looks at me with that half smile and then turns to race me to the DVD player… the cat…. the laundry room…. the race is on!
8. I missed most of the juicy gossip on Monday during the Bachelorette because U of A was playing. It was my choice. I am the sports fanatic in the house… but can someone please tell me why Chris ended up with a rose??? REALLY???? What am I missing? I don’t see it. Neither does G.
9. Soccer needs to get back into my life. This fall I am going to look into finding a team.
10. I talk to D all.day.long. But then again, aren’t you supposed to talk to them? Each time I am at the store “talking” to him just like he is a regular person I get weird looks. I don’t talk loud. I don’t use baby talk. I just talk. Something I’ve noticed… but stares will never change me. Just an honest observation.
