Memorial Day Weekend: Family Update

It’s Friday!!! Both kids felt better so we ventured out of the house for the first time in a week… My cough could clear a room so we opted for an expansive outdoor arena for our jaunt. Safer for everyone involved. There may have been MANY happy dances had. Fresh air does a body good… Not mine… But I’ve heard somewhere it does. Smiles all around and no one near to get coughed on. Calling it a win. #momlife

Two trips to @homedepot yesterday morning with two cute helpers landed us with ten holes to dig. Hubby had the stomach flu so my little helpers ran through sprinklers and “helped” in the backyard. Four hours later and ten bush holes dug in the rockiest ground EVER and our backyard is a bit homier. Nearly five years after moving in… can’t wait to grab a glass of bubbly and sit outside under the stars tonight. Loved our weekend full of family and fun. We explained what Memorial Day truly means to Raymond this year and he gets it. Thankful for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. They are the reason we can have weekends like these. We will never forget their sacrifice.

The greatest intentions to do a BIG barbecue led us to realizing we didn’t thaw any of our stash of meat-major fail. But the kids didn’t know the difference and we had some sweet treats to eat as we relished in our time together outside. I am crossing my fingers that the ten bushes I planted make it. The desert is quite cruel and I have a history of killing plants. So there’s that.
