There are all sorts of projects that I want to get started. There just doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day- or energy for that matter to get them started(finished). A lovely friend rescued a stool from their neighbor for us. The stool is really nice, hardwood of which I have now primed, painted light purple, added felt strips to the bottom, and put on a nice top-coat. The only part of the project that is missing is a new latch that I need to pick-up from Lowes. BUT- the stool is GORGEOUS and I am really excited that it matches the decor in our spare bathroom upstairs and is the perfect height for when Dirk starts to brush his teeth and wash his hands(on his own).
Future Plans also include:
- Sanding, priming and painting all of the walls and door frames that we massacred while removing the old red couch from the spare bedroom upstairs.
- Finding and installing bed-rails for the queen bed(Dirk’s soon-to-be Big Boy Bed).
- Figuring out some-sort of window coverings for the two smaller windows in the spare bedroom- because the blinds just don’t cut it out here in the desert.
- Re-purposing the old TV stand into a kid’s craft table. I plan on painting the table gray(no kidding?) and then applying a coat of gray(of course) chalk board paint that I have used in other projects. So it will be a craft table and chalkboard play area that will be up in the new big-kid room.
- I have been saving our glass containers and cans for some pinterest inspired projects. I plan on dipping some of the cans into paint(half-way) and then using them as decor. Other cans will be used to organize our pantry, laundry room and bathroom supplies. Same goes for the glass.
Dirk has been seriously under-the-weather the last week. To say that he has been impossible is a severe understatement. Perhaps, all of the molars coming in. Perhaps, growing pains. Perhaps, he just didn’t feel good.
Seriously- impossible.
On Saturday, right around 5PM I felt like I was hit by a ton of bricks. And am still feeling down and out right now. Perhaps, Dirk felt this bad all week. And if so, I AM SO SORRY. Sorry for getting frustrated. Sorry for crying out of desperation. Sorry that I didn’t know how to make it better.
Here is hoping that this week is better. Please, pretty, pretty please.
