Rehearsal Dinner

Thought I would fill you all in on our life lately. The week leading up to this past weekend was full of nerves. My mom heart was having a hard time parting with the fact that my kids would be with non-family all weekend. I know, I know… people use babysitters all the time. But ever since Raymond went into anaphylactic shock at ten months I’ve been loathing the day that we would leave him in the care of someone else. Some people don’t take food allergies seriously. And at just three he can’t advocate for himself as well as I would be comfortable with. Mid-week I went into a mere panic when our sitter for Saturday fell-through. Hours of stress later and we figured it out.

SO GLAD.

Thursday was time to get our nails done. The last time I had my nails professionally done was for another best friends wedding in 2010. So, it’s been awhile and it was GLORIOUS. A fabulous suggestion from another bridesmaid to get a shellac manicure and BOOM. My nails still look glorious. I GET it. I would love to look this put together all the time. But right now it is reserved for very special events.

Which makes it more special and glorious?

Yes.

And I had a glass of bubbly. A coffee date with the Bride. Glorious time with someone who means so much to me.

My husband took half days on Thursday and Friday so that I could attend the events and it felt weird to leave the house without the kids. I took a picture each time… so yes, it was a moment.

Friday I loved being able to go to the rehearsal early for bridesmaid duties and then meet the hubby at the rehearsal dinner. Such a great dinner with friends-old and new!

The Rehearsal Dinner was literally the fifth date my husband and I have been on since Raymond was born three years ago. We lived it up with my old college friends. We have been friends for 12 years and I feel so lucky that my kids get to grow up knowing them!

My freshman year roommate. She is one of the kindest people on the face of the earth. Loved catching up with her and not worrying about a toddler and preschooler running around… adult conversation for the win!

Rehearsal Dinner

All of us lived in the same dorm freshman year- twelve glorious years ago. These ladies have seen me at my best and worst. So thankful to be able to celebrate weddings, new homes, babies, and degrees(hello PHD on the horizon). Love my Arizona Family.

Saturday morning came early… hello Em waking up at 4AM. But I left these cuties at 8AM to grab the bride her coffee and get ready! Loved being a part of her big day. So many good memories. And even some off-roading.

Lots of happy tears were shed this past weekend. We are just getting back together this Wednesday. Naps were taken. Groceries were bought. Meals were prepped. Made a double batch of Zuppa Toscana and chicken and veggie ka-bobs.

So that is our life lately.

We are off to Sea Life Aquarium today for their new exhibit Octopus Hideout! Will share all about it soon!
