Jumping Jack Love

Emma Marie turned eighteen months old in February. BOY is time going by fast! She got a good bill of health from our pediatrician and is now 33 inches tall and 22 pounds. We don’t have another cardiologist appointment until she turns two in August. She rather disliked the appointment and climbed me like a koala.

On the other hand her big brother tried his darndest to let her know that she was going to be okay. We have a “Doctor’s Kit” that we play pretend with so he was trying to explain everything that our pediatrician was doing. It didn’t help. But boy did he try.

Dear Emma Marie,

You are one mighty strong young toddler. I am so proud of the person you are becoming. You are kind and try to make new friends at the park-zoo-store with girls your own age. You ADORE girls your age. You willingly seek out them and love playing with them. You are empathetic insomuch that you worry when others start to cry-sometimes crying out and asking why they are upset. We tell you they just need a hug and sometimes that makes you feel better, sometimes.

You are talking all the time now. You can say full phrases and ask questions. You know all of the farm animals, their sounds, and names. You love cows, goats, owls, but most of all puppies and cats. You cherish your little lovies. Two puppy dogs, a baby Swift Heart Rabbit, a big Swift Heart Rabbit, and one of Raymond’s old lovies called Fuzzy. You sleep with all five and make sure they are all accounted for… because you now ask to go down for nap and night time when you are wide-awake. You count your lovies, give them all eskimo kisses, hug them all, and then say “love you” to me and you roll over and go to sleep.

Goodness do I miss your cuddles. Miss Independence.

You sleep from 7PM-7AM on most nights-give or take half an hour.

You wake up happy, always.

You are interested in and have asked to use the bathroom multiple times.

You always take off your shoes when getting inside, take them over to the closet, and then wash your hands. You take your dirty laundry to the hamper and help clean up all of your toys before nap and night time.

You love to climb. EVERYTHING. I can’t count the times I’ve lost my breath from you climbing the unthinkable. It never happens twice, because you always follow the rules. Thankful.

You tackle your brother. Like actually lean down, put your head down, and hit him with your low center of gravity. You think it is HILARIOUS. No one agrees with you. You chalk it up to LOVE- and say you are giving him hugs and kisses.

You carry around your baby, put them in the stroller, feed them, and go grocery shopping. Such a good momma.

You always want “one more” of anything: kiss, song, book…

You love to give your babies to us in the morning when you wake-up.

You proudly shout. “YO HO HO,” when you enter the Secret Hideout. It will never, ever get old to hear your sweet little voice shout the secret password.

You love to run, sing, dance, and goodness do you demand certain things- like when Twinkle Twinkle, Baby Beluga, Itsy Bisty Spider, “Family Made Up Song”… it truly depends on how you feel with what you would like to sing. You LOVE listening to Raffi.

Mickey Mouse and Scooby Doo are your all-time favorites to watch. You adore all of the Mickey Characters. ADORE THEM. I can’t wait to see what you think of them at Disneyland this next year.

When you play hide-n-seek you always start laughing when we get close to finding you… he, he, he.

Sweet baby girl we love you so much!

Love always,

Mommy & Dadda
